Kelley Murphy

Kelley Murphy is a Research Associate with the Earth System Science Center at UAH. She mainly focuses on applied meteorological research, particularly involving lightning and it’s intersection with human safety, severe and hazardous convection, and air quality. Kelley completed her M.S. degree at Texas Tech University before moving to Huntsville, where she created a lightning risk assessment for application to human safety as part of her thesis work. Her current research involves finding new and innovative ways to utilize lightning data from both ground based and spaceborne instruments to support the research to operations efforts of SPoRT.
