Part of an operational user’s routine is to monitor the atmospheric conditions aloft. At times this can be challenging, particularly due to the limited RAOB sites and twice-daily launches. Additionally, data void areas over oceans and high latitudes hinder the user\xe2\x80\x99s full knowledge of current conditions and comparison to short-term model forecasts. Satellite soundings via JPSS Gridded NUCAPS can help fill these needs and a gridded display of these soundings is introduced in this training. The goal is to present this \xe2\x80\x9cGridded NUCAPS\xe2\x80\x9d sounding product as a tool for daily application to complement RAOB soundings and for comparison to model output, particularly in data void regions.
