Products

The main level 1 raw product from AMPR is antenna temperature (Ta). This is the amount of microwave energy received from all sources in the field-of-view. The Ta's are calibrated into the level 2 brightness temperature (Tb) product. From the Tb's a number of other level 2 products can be produced. Currently we compute a precipitation index (API, Hood et. al., 2005) valid over open ocean. These and other products are listed in table 1.
