SPoRT wants to transition science needs into applications that benefit society and maximize the value of NASA satellite missions.
NASA SPoRT is hosting a community assessment kickoff webinar for initial PACE chlorophyll-a composite and anomaly products focused on Harmful Algal Blooms and broader water quality applications.
The webinar will introduce the August-September 2026 assessment, provide an overview of the PACE Chlorophyll-a 7-day composite and PACE Chlorophyll-a 30-day anomaly / difference-from-background product, and show how participants can access the products through the SPoRT Viewer.
This assessment is an opportunity for water quality, HAB, coastal, inland water, fisheries, public health, modeling, and decision-support users to explore how PACE data may complement existing workflows and help fill gaps where in-situ observations are limited. Feedback from participants will help NASA SPoRT better understand product utility, access needs, visualization preferences, and future product priorities.
Webinar Date: Tuesday, August 11th, 2026
Time: 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. CDT
Assessment Period: August-September 2026
Virtual Meeting (Link will be sent the week of the event)
