Tropical Cyclone and Tropical Dynamics

TROPICS Early Adopters with a tropical cyclone and a tropical dynamics focus seek to utilize TROPICS data to perform applied scientific research related to tropical convection, severe storms, and precipitation. TROPICS improves upon the temporal frequency of the current passive microwave constellation, enabling better detection of convective extremes related to these phenomena that evolve over relative short timescales and are often missed by current observing systems.
